The Heart of the Den
A sanctuary built for mothers, by a mother.
Hi, I’m Shelley!
I’m a yoga teacher, certified art therapy practitioner, meditation guide, and mother. Through The Healing Mother’s Den, I create spaces where mothers can slow down, reconnect with themselves, and rediscover the parts of their identity that sometimes get lost in the beautiful transition into motherhood.
My work blends gentle movement, creative expression, reflection, and community to support women in nurturing both themselves and their families.
Why a Den?
In nature, a den is a place of safety, rest, and nurturing. I believe every mother deserves that same sanctuary. Here, we don’t just practice yoga; we practice coming home to ourselves. Through the gentle flow of movement and the intuitive release of art, we find the "spark" that motherhood often leaves us too tired to look for.
My Journey
There was a time in my life when I felt like I had lost touch with myself.
For years I poured my energy into relationships, work, and the expectations around me. Somewhere along the way, I realized I wasn’t really living as the main character in my own life. I felt more like I was moving through the world on autopilot, unsure of what truly lit me up anymore.
In 2019, I made a decision to pause and rebuild my life with intention. I stepped away from the career path I had been on and gave myself the space to rediscover who I was and what brought me joy.
During that time, I reconnected with creativity. Art, journaling, and reflection became powerful tools that helped calm my mind and reconnect me to my inner voice. Creating with my hands gave me a sense of purpose and groundedness that I hadn’t felt in years.
This journey eventually led me to become a certified art therapy practitioner and meditation guide, where I began supporting others in reconnecting with themselves in similar ways.
Then motherhood arrived, and with it came another profound shift.
I began to notice how many women quietly carry the emotional and mental weight of caring for everyone around them while their own needs fade into the background. I saw how deeply mothers crave connection, creativity, rest, and spaces where they can simply be themselves.
The Healing Mother’s Den was created for that reason.
It is a place where mothers can come as they are, breathe deeply, move their bodies, create freely, and reconnect with the parts of themselves that deserve just as much care and attention as the people they love.
Because when a mother feels supported, seen, and connected to herself, that sense of nourishment flows into every part of her life.
